The Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard) recently launched the first leg of the AdBoard Chairman’s Trophy Golf Tournament last October 6, 2010 at the Villamor Golf Club.
Team champion for the first leg of the AdBoard Chairman’s Trophy is the United Print Media Group (UPMG). The Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) was team runner-up. Low gross champion was Jun Arceo (Guest) while the Low net champion was Danny Ocampo of UPMG.
Albert Garcia from PANA was proclaimed champion of the men’s Class A division. He was followed by Dino Datu (UPMG)) and Carlo Llave (OAAP), respectively, as first and second runners-up.
In men’s Class B, Emil Reintar from the 4As swung skillfully to be named champion. First runner-up Tong Puno (4As) and second runner-up Jun Nicdao (KBP) certainly played just as good a game.
Alex Magno from UPMG was champion of men’s Class C. Not far behind were Atty. Joe Vale (OAAP), first runner-up, and Dong Callao (OAAP), second runner-up.
The men’s Class D division saw Mackoy Villaroman from ASAP as champion. Completing the group of winners in this division were first runner-up Ed Cordova (KBP) and second runner-up Buddy Chua (OAAP).
The women golfers displayed outstanding grace and skill in the ladies’ division. Susan San Pascual of the (UPMG) was proclaimed champion while Mary Ann Reyes (UPMG) was runner-up. In the guests’ division, Monsur Del Rosario was hailed as champion and Seve Oliva (Auto Hub) was runner-up.
Special Award was given to Raul Blay from ASAP for having the Most Accurate Drive and Tony Miranda (Gerry’s Grill) for the Nearest to the Pin award.
Event sponsors are ABS-CBN and Fitness First as the major sponsors, Autohub, Atty. Joe Vale and Jose Sy as Hole-In-One sponsors. Hole Sponsors are Ad Spin, Gerry’s Grill, Mang Inasal, PC&V, Rebisco, San Marino (CDO Foodsphere) and Splash Corporation. On November 27, the AdBoard Chairman’s Trophy shall come together once again for the second and last leg of the tournament at Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club.
